CHALLENGES: This event occurs every other year. There are numerous challenges in managing so many meetings and so many interpreters. We often have last minute meeting and room changes, need extra equipment, have off-site events, and more. We always adapt quickly to the changes and challenges we face during every event. The client is always very happy with our overall performance and excellent customer service. Some keynote speakers have been public officials such as former New York City Mayor, Rudy Gullianni.
CLIENT NAME: Boston Scientific
LANGUAGES: Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 600
CHALLENGES: Part of this event was to interpret live surgical procedures. The difficulty in this is that the interpreters have no way to prepare for terminology or scripts so it is truly a test of skill and expertise for these language professionals. In choosing the interpreters, technical capability and experience were a big key. This event was held outdoors in a tent during bad weather conditions, the interpreters had to work with the equipment during stormy weather.
