Cities We Serve

U.S. Translation Company does whatever it takes to solve issues and make deadlines. We've found ways to ensure projects are delivered in specific formats like AutoCad. This case study demonstrates our commitment to meet deadlines, no matter what time it is.

Client Background:

JBT AeroTech is a global giant in the development and production of machinery and equipment. Their products range from energy, to food production, to airport equipment. With the sales of this equipment internationally, JBT is required by local and international regulations to provide operation, maintenance and safety manuals of all products to be in the native languages of their clients. U.S. Translation Company is proud to have been the preferred provider of JBT's translation services for over 10 years!

Project Description:

We translated AutoCad drawings for JBT AeroTech.

Languages:

We provided English to Russian and English to Spanish translation.

Timeline:

We translated the necessary documents in one week's time.

Report:

The client provided AutoCad drawings in English that needed to be translated into Spanish and Russian. They needed the language translations to be delivered in AutoCad version 14. Due to the required time line, it was necessary to utilize translators that could do the work directly in AutoCad.

Finding qualified linguists that own and work in this program is difficult. One Russian translator selected for this project was an expert in AutoCad, however, the version of AutoCad that he used would not allow for a down-save to version 14.

We solved this problem by sending the file to the client in a Word file for them to do the DTP quickly. For future translations into Russian using AutoCad, we've made arrangements to have translation services done in Word and have the DTP done in our office into AutoCad. With this solution, the client is able to schedule timing of projects and receive the documents in the desired format. The client was very happy with this solution and our ability to work with their unique needs.

During the actual language translation and DTP process, we were notified that the Spanish to English translator had a medical emergency and needed to send the files over the weekend in order to meet the deadline and take care of personal needs.

Provisions were made to receive and send the files over the weekend when the Project Manager was scheduled to be out of town.

Our Project Manager made arrangements to stop at a remote location during her vacation to manage the transfer of the files through our Internet FTP portal and our proprietary on-line tracking and management system.
